My name is Barbara Holwadel – candidate for the Ohio Republican Party State Central Committee, 8th Senate District (Hamilton County).
My political involvement was inspired on inauguration day, 2009 as I painfully watched Barack Obama take the oath of office. The sense of foreboding I experienced at that time inspired me to get more involved and commit my time to political activism.
This activity led me to a group of highly motivated & organized women who then started a group known as Women For Liberty. We worked tirelessly in 2012 attempting to make sure that Obama did not get a second term. All summer long we created, stuffed & distributed literature throughout Hamilton County. We staffed phone banks at the Victory Center and most challenging of all, we stood outside the Board of Elections during early voting, distributing literature to the masses in line to vote.
In 2013 we joined forces with a group called Save Cincinnati to help elect fiscally responsible candidates to Cincinnati City Council. Our group believed that excessive debt represented the single most threatening detriment to our freedom and a burden being passed on to our children’s children.
As for my personal life, I have been married to my husband David for 26 years and have two grown daughters. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in business from Wilmington College and homeschooled my daughters.
Freedom is defined as the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints and liberty is immunity from arbitrary exercise of authority. It is represented by political independence. It is personal freedom from servitude or confinement or oppression. I take Ronald Reagan’s warning very seriously “freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.” I believe we all must work to keep freedom from becoming extinct.
Please join me in this battle to restore our constitutional government by implementing once more a bold vision and message combined with courageous leadership. Together, we can build a party that stands for Freedom & Liberty throughout the year, not just with words at election time. Thank you for your consideration and support.
Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
